My son Mark had never caught a Bass, so today we set out to try and sort this out.
So at 9am we headed out down the South Llyn from Pwllheli. The swell was a lot worse than predicted, but we eventually managed to get to the chosen area.
Mark threw out a favourite Lemon back FBM with 25g offshore head and was soon into the first fish of the day. It gave a decent account of itself and we were hopeful. But it was not to be. His consolation was a PB Wrasse of 3lb 12oz.
So not too disappointed!
We soldiered on around the bay and eventually it happened. Mark's first Bass
Not massive, but a Bass all the same.
I got in on the action with Pollack, Wrasse and eventually some Bass of my own
We managed 7 Bass between us in the end. Nothing big, biggest no more than 2lb. But it was mission accomplished and that was all that mattered. Good to know there's plenty about.
