Up in skye

Postby joe roberts » Thu Sep 27, 2018 8:11 am

Been here 3 days so far the weather is shocking but we've had a few fish out inbetween the shower and wind.
all been around the 3-5lb mark with a few touching 8lb+ for the other lads.
Some of the swell is around 20ft high coming in against the wind. So making most venues unfishable.ImageImageImageImageImage

Nice stamp of fish there Joe... have you tried lures ?
A big bait on the bottom may just tempt a Skate, the big one ! Some Whitby lads had a couple of real monsters almost exactly where you are a few years ago.

We're using lures and bottom fishing but the swells manic and making it hard fishing. We had another bad weather day today so been drinking a lot in the cottage. Managed a few hours out but just small stuff. It's finally given good weather with no swell tomorrow so we might do a bit better. ImageImageImage

Whereabouts are the last set of pics Joe, obvioulsy if its a secret location dont bother !

On my last visit I fished around Brackadale and Harport, from Ardtreck Point and other areas... there are so many different accessible areas, sometimes its hard to make a decision on Skye, if you dont mind travelling a bit, there is always somewhere out of the worst of the weather.

Anyway, hope your trip continues to produce the goods for you, and the weather improves.
