Time to Hit the Bass

Postby wobbler72 » Tue Sep 11, 2018 8:16 pm

As the summer comes to an end and the Bream and Tope move on, my mind inevitably turns towards Bass on lures. I got a small window of a couple of hours today to nip out and see if I could find a few.

First off, I headed off towards Carreg y Dafaid. There was a lot of weed suspended in the water and I had to move around a little to find  cleaner water. Eventually I did find a clearer patch and managed a couple of Schoolies, Nothing special, around 1.5-2lb.

I moved on.

The next mark still had some suspended weed but it wasn't too bad. This mark produced a further 4 fish for me. Biggest 3lb 12oz

All fish caught on FBM 120mm offshore SP's in Lemonback. Nothing else got a touch today.

I'm off out again tomorrow morning. Hopefully heading a little further afield, weather permitting, in search of the big girls :)

hi buddy

I was using a 9 ft lure rod that I normally use from the shore. It’s kinda weird really. You spend years fishing from the shore trying to launch lures as far out as possible. I now spend my time getting my boat close into shore and casting to within a few yards of the shore!

All 4 from the second session were caught within easy casting distance from the shore
