30 species in a month?

Postby Daverad » Mon Sep 03, 2018 9:00 am

Ended the month with a disappointing 19 species.
A pouting at Holyhead, dab at Talacre and codling, pollack, sea scorpion and smelt at Amlwch completed my haul.
In hindsight fishing 2 opens and 2 summer league matches in the 4 weekends in August as well as time spent collecting bait didn't help with these matches only adding 2 species.
However 19 wasn't bad when I didn't catch some if the easier species - bream, garfish, plaice, huss, conger and none of the gurnard family so 25-30 was possible.
Will try again next year but may pick a different month!
