Llandudno Pier: (The Return)

Postby seaangler » Fri Aug 31, 2018 10:28 pm

After dropping a decent Smoothound on the last visit to Llandudno Pier a few weeks ago, i thought another trip was i order whilst the Smoothound are still being taken.

myself & Ritchie headed down early doors for 8am to secure the hotspot. Sean was busy with work comitments in the morning, but would join us for midday, enough time to fish the flooding tide.

Tide height = 28.6ft
Tide Time 14:46

There was not much to report until the action kicked in around the 1pm mark with a few Dogfish being taken to squid wraps.....

when Sean arrived he was not messing around and got straight into the Smoothound action.....

A nice specimen that weighed in at 11lb.......
Image

Shortly followed by a 5lb specimen that took Mackerel strip on a mackerel flapper on a size 10 hook, you can see the mackerel feather in the Hounds mouth.......
Image

Soon after me and Ritchie were into a 4lb & 6lb specimen respectivley........

Not long after the Smoothies my rod went mental.......
an 7lb Bull Huss.....

Then a 2lb Codling......

An hour after high it went absolutely dead. All fish were taken on squid.

All in all a great day. until next time!
If people concentrated on the REALLY important things in life....... There would be a shortage of fishing rods and reels
