30 species update

Postby Daverad » Wed Aug 08, 2018 10:22 am

It's fair to say things haven't gone to plan. Only 6 species in the first week.

Started day 1 at Amlwch with ballan, corkwing and dogfish.
Two days later tried Colwyn Bay prom for mackerel but none showing despite reports otherwise. Quickly drove round to North shore. Plenty of small whiting and 3 mackeral.

Next day Pwllheli Open hoping for bream and garfish.
Drew peg 29. Virtually no fish for the first 40 legs but plenty of spider crabs! Only managed a flounder but being the only flat fish caught took the £47 pool. Also picked up a bottle of vodka in the raffle so not a disastrous day.

Undeterred next day - Mostyn. Plenty of thornbacks on same tides last year but three rods didn't produce a bite on small or large baits.

Starting week 2 at Holyhead.
