Perch Rock. 02/08/18.

Postby starfish » Fri Aug 03, 2018 12:35 am

.

A Midweek sesh on the perch for some more hound action :D
The first casts resulted in two large jelly fish and tones of weed
i would later regret removing the jelly fish from my rig without gloves and then rubbing my eye
as it was now stinging for the rest of the sesion.

The weed is still hanging around perch making things difficult again
but even with the weed i got my first hound out for 6lb very early on in the sesion.

Image

After the first hound was landed more anglers were now turning up too try there luck
I thought things were looking good as the first hound came in very early on
but then nearly 2 and half hours later and nothing but weed and yet again no fish at all and blanks all around
i sure a familiar story about the ebb at perch rock recently no or not much action at all.

Most had packed up and got off home before low water came
but persistence and big casts payed off for me tonight
and the second hound of the night around the 6lb mark was a very welcome sight indeed. :D

Image

The tide was now running far too strong on the flood
and it was bringing the weed right back in again
so it was time to pull the rigs back in and pack up for the night
and to my surprise as it was in the darkness of night
i had a good sized plaice for 36cm and 1lb on the bottom hook to finish off the night. :D

You've done that twice this year, Plaice and Hound in same session :D
It shows what size bait they go for

Its a good rig you use. My rig got hit bottom hook twice and top hook twice yesterday but a hound managed to take the swivel out the snap on and came in with 15lb line hugging the snap on :o
Plaice are like gold dust at the moment. Lovely fish to eat :D
