Hoyle Bank Sunday

Postby Tom » Mon Jul 23, 2018 11:42 am

Having missed a trip joining BigKev. The Sunday morning conditions still seemed great to go catch some fish.
So I grabbed some lugworm and started fishing the flood with another angler. With two other anglers to our left and three to the right. It was quite busy out there for such a big walk.

Soon into the flood considerate knocks came on and it was while we were pumping that the bell alerted us.
First cast came in a school bass and that's a first for me there so that was quickly achieved. Then the angler next to me had something knocking and in came a flounder. His first also. So there was to be variety in the session.

Results were many schoolies and we both had a double header bass and flounder, and he also had double bass, a very small one which is a good sign their breeding.

We tried razor but couldn't get a bite on that. I've only caught the one bass off Caldy on razor, so I think lug is the bait to be.

Go as light as you possibly can to have a really good time

Loads of weavers about, check your catch before handling, this will result in extreme pain and a trip to A&E
