Kayak fishing session off sandy beach Anglesey on Sunday

Postby Gazmag » Mon Jul 02, 2018 12:46 pm

I set out from the campsite slipway about 6.45 just before low water as there was a a weather window upto 12.00. I travelled out about half a mile to where the reefs end and the water is about 30ft at low water. I fished one rod with fish or squid and the other with peeler. The rod with crab was dead slow but did turn up a nice smoothhound ( it's on YouTube , https://youtu.be/8nki9xR9fcc in 360). The squid/fish rod produced a doggy a Chuck and half a dozen decent bullhuss between 6 and 10lb. Dot on 12 God turned on the wind and wave machine and it was time to make a run back to the site. Another enjoyable session considering the colour of the water. Gaz
