Perch rock.16/06/18

Postby starfish » Sun Jun 17, 2018 9:04 am

Not the best conditions this weekend with strong SW winds rain on and off
and are planed trip up to anglesey was canceled in the last minute
this was replaced by a local trip back too perch rock for another go at the rays

First cast and things were looking good with a 36cm flounder for 1lb 1oz

The wind was now whipping up quite strong after that fish was landed
and as the tide started to ebb the wind got stronger
the rods were bouncing everywhere in the rod rests so it was not the best conditions too see bites today
Dyl was doing much better with the braid and was picking the whiting out very well.

after a long period without any fish for me i finely sure a good take
and i took the first ray of the day for 5lb 3oz. :D

No sooner had that one gone back in
Dyl then took two thorny rays also.

My rod went again with a good slack liner take this time
and again it felt like a better fish was on
but i guessed it was a double header of rays
and it turned out i was correct. :D

The last ray of the day fell to me again
the tide was pulling very strong now on the flood
and it was challenging to retrieve it in the strong tide pull.

The run was short and sweet today but we got what we came for
and we had a lovely sunset to see us off the beach and on are way home. :D
