Low Water opposite the Clown Rock Cannel.

Postby NIGEL C » Sun May 13, 2018 9:49 am

Fished the low near the breakwater we had the whole beach to ourselves last Friday with Dave Vernon using up some precious crab!
An off shore wind made the casting easy and helped with dropping into slightly deeper water, first cast found a 1lb plus bass followed by a good plaice then several reasonable flounder. Slowed a little at low water then we were both picking up some good sized if a little scruffy dabs.
Started to run out of crab as the best of the fishing on the flood was starting. Last few casts found double headers of flounder and dab.
Well worth a visit, also noted at dead low that the fry were being scattered with the odd small bass topping....might take the fly rod down next time!!!
