Trearddur Bay 27/01/18 Cod Hunt

Postby Dyl » Thu Feb 01, 2018 10:18 pm

Myself the 2 Daves and Jordan fancied a session trying to lure a Cod and with nothing much coming out of the Mersey we decided on a session down at Trearddur Bay. The wind was a fresh WSW at 19mph it was just about fishable at the flag pole if it was westerly I think we would have needed a plan B. Arrived at around 3:30pm and in 20mins later high tide was 6pm

Image

We had a little wager for the session £2 each for the biggest fish

Jordan was in early on with a Cole fish that got snagged on the rock and fell back in the drink and Dave Roberts was pulling steady stream of small dabs out

We were all catching the odd Whiting mostly around 20-27cm

Image

Then I caught this little slug

Image

The wind started to pick up a little and myself and Dave Rad thought we would give the beech a couple of hours. With not bit until I think it was going to be Dave Rads last cast

Image

A nice little Bass of 31cm

Dave Rob and Jordan were still catching at the flag pole Dave also catching a Whiting of 31cm sharing the massive pot

We packed up around 9pm with not one Cod between us

High was 6:06pm 4.54m
19mph WSW

My god that's a shame. Happens a couple of times a year that sort of thing. You'd have to be a messy angler to cause this sort of thing but then again I've turned my back to see my dogs intrigued by my baited rig

good idea to keep your dog on a leed then when on the beach.
as that happened on the "beach"
i would just to point out that this report was from the rocks
and they were no near that location. :D

well done lads :D
that is a clean beach bottom mark good for dabs and whiting etc so you all did very well.

Well done Fella's, some action at least. It's only a matter of time before it happens on the proms too, the amount of people letting their dogs off the lead, going round sniffing out anglers bait n stuff.

Loads of scum bags leaving gear around. Loads of dog owners not controlling dogs too.
