Anglesey Action

Postby GAZZ3R » Sun Jan 14, 2018 11:38 am

With the SE winds around, Graham and i decided on a Conger session over on North Anglesey, On arrival it was the fine drizzle and we both thought we were in for a soaking, undeterred we made our way to the Rocks, it was ok as the rocks we would be fishing off weren't that slippy. We got set up and very soon Graham got into the strap Conger

He must have caught 2 or 3 before I decided to make some squid n Mack cocktails then sure enough I got into them myself

That's how it went up untill Right on HW my rod tip started pulling down, I thought it must be half decent as it was a bit more agressive than the strap bites, I lifted into it and knew staight away it was a good un, Graham managed to pull it out of the water and then the fun started, we managed to bag it and up away from the water, all 18lb 2oz of pure Conger Muscle

It died off shortly after that for a while the Graham got into a good un but as it broke the surface it got off, we both got a look at it and that too was a double and it quickly made its way back down, one or two straps later we called it a night and vowed to return soon

Well in once again Gazzer laaaaa. That was a beast!

Ever so slightly gutted that my big girl was a spitter rather than a swallower but that’s fishing!
