Been my first trip out for a while due to work and weather, so with the good wife coming along for some fresh air, I decided on a place I fished before when there was a match on Perch Rock.
I fished just up river in front of the ground that goes parallel to the river in front of the flats next to theatre. With some nice fresh lug and some mackerel and squid I was hopeful of a few good fish.
Two hook pat on one rod and pennel on the other, out they went and stayed a good 20 mins with no bites. Rebates and a flurry of dabs after another 15 mins waiting. These carried on until about 20 before low then quiet until about same after low. Few more dabs and then a few whiting but no sign of codling. All the fish came at long range, but water seems shallower than last time so maybe the banks are moving a bit.
Hopefully out again soon.

It is a bit shallow there for codling, but the dabs usually keep the rods knocking ....nice to catch a few though Gaz
