Seaforth Lunker

Postby Big Kev » Sun Dec 17, 2017 6:14 am

After a miserable pumping session yielding a mere 27 worms i decided not to venture up to Braystones and have a short local session at Seaforth beach.Atmos shot
Up n over pennels loaded with lug n squid were in the water by 2am,but the rods remained motionless until 3.15am when my big rod started bouncing....i thought i`d lost the fish as it started swimming towards me,but caught up with it 50 yds out, then it was heart in the mouth stuff until i beached it,weighing in at an annoying 9-15-0 (why not a double  )
Image It had certainly been eating well, looking at the belly on it,and after a quick pic it was released to make someone elses day, Other than that i only had 1 whiting and a last cast dab. Lovely night on the beach with hardly a breath of wind.

A fish of that stamp makes the session worth all the effort. Well in Kev and nice to see a cracker of a beach caught Cod from our NW shores.

It was worth getting my feet wet for as i only had my lunker boots on (very apt) to keep my feet toasty...it was kicking about but did`nt swim off until i took it a bit further out.
