TOPe O THE MORNIN TO YA

Postby GAZZ3R » Sun Jun 18, 2017 7:45 pm

With the tides bein at weird times over the weekend I had a failed attempt at getting up at 2am on Saturday morning to go searching for Sole and Eels. With a bit of thinking and working things out I thought I could get to the Lleyn, Either Pwllheli or a Rock mark, I decided on the Rock mark where I could target Mackerel Wrasse Pollock and Tope. Cutting a long story short I managed just small pollock, nailing my lures sometimes not even getting chance to hit the sea bed and whack, something pulled the rod tip, maybe a good Pollock? I'll never know cos it dove straight for a snag and that was the end of that, just as I was changing my lure over I heard my reel on my Tope rod, ZZZZ then ZZZZZZZZZZZ this is a Tope I thought, I picked the rod up and off it went again for a longer run, at the end of the run I lifted into it, yep fish on, after a 15 to 20 min tussle I managed to get it into place to scramble down to it and land it , all 33lb 10 oz of a fine specimen of a Tope Sorry the pics aren't too good, it's a bit difficult on your own.Image
Image[/url] after gettin a good soaking landing it I called it a day, the Tide was getting really low I was wet but hey I didn't mind that so off home I went feeling really great ending fishin on a high note, a celebratory drink is in order I think Image

Well in gazza laaaaaa. Very much well deserved after coming within a whisker of landing one a few weeks back. And caught on a Tip Tornado Ultra Light. Just goes to show that you don't need pokers to land big fish.
Well in once again mate

Wow. Fantastic Gaz. Worth it in the end. Congrats
If people concentrated on the REALLY important things in life....... There would be a shortage of fishing rods and reels

Brilliant tope Gaz

I was heading there Sunday morning but caught lazyitis before leaving home. Wish I'd gone now!

I'll have to ask you how you landed it on your own because it's a difficult mark on your own.
