Myself and Maerig arrived at the bay at 3.45pm....
Image
Image
With the forecast northerly wind,we would be going for a trek around the right headland in order to get shelter....
Image
After a 50 min stroll along the coastal path we arrived at our spot...
Image
It was a pretty comfortable ledge, from which we would be able to stay for the flood tide....
With plenty of rocky outcrops and very deep water,it looked pretty fishy...
Image
Image
Image
The climb down was pretty easy, with plenty of footholds in the rocks....
Image
As expected it was quiet until the light went, and with high water coming 90 mins later we thought it would throw some fish up.....a couple of dogs got me off the mark before my squid bait was taken by a P.B equalling 3 bearded rockling of 2-0-0....
Image
Maerig took a rockling before taking his first strap of the night...
Image
He soon took another......
Image
I had a break from the dogs to land another 3 bearded...
Image
Disappointed no more eels showed and the huss were hiding, plus the fact that late on the dogs were out in force, but it was a cracking mark that i shall return to in the summer....one of those marks where anything could turn up.

I've been trying to find a decent mark at P Dafarch for a while now. Everything I find is either too high or too snaggy.

Which way did you walk from the beach? Towards south stack? Or towards trearddur?

Cheers

Nick

Towards south stack....just keep following the path for a good 40 mins and you will see the accessible spots on the far side of a big ravine......we had a leisurely stroll and diverted a couple of times to have a look at spots,so you can knock a few minutes off our time once you know where you`re going.

I alternated further out with an up n over rig with large baits for huss, and a loop rig with smaller baits and did`nt lose any gear......on my big fish rod ha..i was dropping squid and big mack baits just 20 yards out at the most and only lost 4 leads (rotten bottoms worked well)......i`ve fished much snaggier marks than here.
