A week on the Penrhyn Llŷn

Postby andybass » Sun Aug 02, 2015 11:23 am

I spent a Week down on the Llŷn I've wanted to do some fishing around there for a few years now so I booked the week at Porthmadog for the first few days I did nothing. he he I had to go back to good old Warrington for a job interview on the Tuesday. on the Wednesday I went to Criccieth to get some Bait and local information I was told that there were a few Spotted rays caught on the beach front. So I went straight there for my first day fishing. lots of dogfish and rocking but no rays

On the Thursday I stayed in Pothmadog and fished in the estuary bay the tidal gates I made a mental not about 20 years ago that there were Mullet in there armed with a bucket of bread old squid and worms I set out for them. I also had a spinning rod set up.

the mullet never showed the condition were perfect. but thats fishing. I seen some fish topping so I thought I would throw a lure over them. I'd be honest I thought they were either Sea trout or Salmon. I was so wrong. first cast using a Savage gear lure I had this bar a silver.

on the Friday I went out on the scout and managed to get hold of some peeler crabs. I went back to the Estuary at Porthmadog hopping for more bars of silver. I fished well into dark but had nothing other than these fellas I only took two picture before my phone died.
