Pensarn 27/10

Postby morrow » Sun Oct 28, 2012 9:47 am

Arrived later than planned with woody got there around 1800 met gary who was already set up and pumping away he had had a few whiting, Tried using my new slim pump....its harder than it looks i wasnt doing much good so i started to set the rods up while woody was talking to the chap next to us who was helping us get a little lug pump a cast he made it look easy

Fished 2 rods each just flapper rigs size 2/0 and 3/0

first cast i used some peeler on my flapper with in seconds i had a bang on the rod...........You guessed it FLOUNDER lol

And from here it was whiting after whiting but some nice sizes being caught, Then as it was going dark Gary had a good bang and was rewarded with a nice codling on lug  returned to fight another day

Then more whiting

Then gary had a rockling as we moved up the beach

Sadly no bass i dont know if this is because the temp dropped as we got in the car it read 3 degrees which felt colder, My floatation suit kept me warm :D

Flounder, whiting, codling, rockling between us so a good night this is a nice easy beach to fish i will be back :D

Unlucky re the bass lads. Nice surf running but I guess the cold spell didn't help.

Still a decent session and good to see that there are codling about there. It looks like it could be a half decent venue for codling once it hits the gravel bank and the water deepens.

And Jay, fishing in a t-shirt in near freezing conditions...hardcore!! 8)

nice session. i think you'd have more chance of a bass with fresh peler now there in full peel.

We're off to Pensarn again this Sunday (4th) if you fancy another crack at a late season bass.

Aiming to get there early doors, 7am to pump some lug, then fish low (8:00hrs) to high (13:30hrs) perhaps a couple of hours beyond depending on whether there's any action or not.
