Postby ANGLESEY1 » Fri Oct 22, 2010 8:46 am

HI ALL
went fishing in the menai straits on thursday caught a few codling
went the day before and dug some lugworms so i had some fresh bait
went fishing for a few hour in the straits from midday to 3 pm, the tide was on the ebb
fished the bangor end of the menia straits for a start, had some small codling pin whiting and whiting to 12 inches and a few dog fish

this is how i fished my bait lugworms

Image
a pair of better fish always seamed to catch a better fish with a smaller fish
moved down to the menia bridge end of the straits and caught a few more fish to around 21/2 pounds

caught over 15 codling to 2 1/2 pounds one might have been near 3 pounds, but on a 12 lbs class rods they gave good sport
unsed over 80 lug worms and i enjoyed my few hours fishing

Great report, good to see codling back in the straits in some numbers. Fingers crossed for a good season this year!
Make a difference - take home 1 piece of someone's angling litter next time you are out fishing.

Some good fish there - where would you go to catch them from the shore?
