Wirral Side

Out early doors yesterday to chase the coddo at Vale Park, arrived just after half five for the 8 o clock low and the gully was just about wellie deep and no problem. Got set up , slung out flappers on one rod of worm and squid tips and one with a big old bundle of worm on a pennel. Well it was really manic from the first cast - literally a fish a chuck with both whiting and dabs attacking the baits as soon as they touched bottom - ended up with 15 dabs, 30 odd whiting and one pout but not a sight on Mr C. As worm was getting low I started slinging out slices of fresh whiting and it was getting hit immediately in preference to the worm and mack! - just a crazy session

No pics of the usual suspects due to a carp phone battery. Sacked it as the tide started getting up the bank and took a couple of hours for breakfast and to pick up some more bait at Eastham and on the the platform for the high - first time I've been here for a while and didn't know they had welded the gap in the gate - so only access is by climbing over (must find out who owns it - same people as Bromborough ?), climbing over isn't too difficult but a pain in the ass with all your gear.

Anyway spent another few hours changing baits picking up the odd whiting - but no sign of the main target for me yet....

Couple of pics of rainbows over the river....and the catch - ended up with taking 15 good sized whiting and a handful of dabs - just going into the pan about now
