This is a fairly shallow sandy beach with a shingle bank near the high water line. Situated in between Rhosneigr and Cable Bay,it`s one of those beaches where anything is likely to turn up,from small eyed and thornback rays,to bass, turbot, huss ,coalfish, whiting ,dabs, flounders, and dogs.
With the clarity of the water,it`s probably most productive when there`s an onshore breeze in daylight,or better after dark.
Weed can be a problem at times, though it`s kelpy stuff which is easy to clean off,and seems to be less prevalent the further to the right you go.
Apart from one or two small rocky outcrops as you get on the beach,it`s a clear sandy bottom with no gullies to worry about.
There is ample parking though there is a sign up stating it will soon be pay n display, with a barrier closing the car park at 7pm,so be aware of any developments before you leave for the beach.
Directions...Follow A55 to J5 and take the first exit, following the A4080 towards Rhosneigr....about 1 mile after Rhosneigr you turn off on to a large area of waste ground to park...it`s a bit bumpy and you`ll need a 4x4 to park at the bottom end near to dunes, otherwise park by the container.
