First of all i would like to welcome our two new members. Whipper Snapper & Biff
It was the same story today. The sea was flat calm, not much wind and damned cold. We were expecting the fishing to be poor as the weather had not changed for months :(
By the time i had arrived at "The Gate" everyone was waiting for me, apart from one, who would be late. We soon had our rods by the wall, ready for the short walk down the beach...

Image

We were fishing as far from the gate as the parking would allow, close to the rescue zone of Sparky last year. Though i didn't remind him...

Image

Looking back towards the gate, plenty of anglers were giving it a go today...

Image

On the beach, we had our lines wet in no time and it did not take long for someone to get a bite. A guy fishing just beyond Sparky had an enormous bite and hooked into something rather large. After playing it a while, the creature appeared on the surface, a Cormorant

Image

It took him quite a while to get it in. The bird looked shaken but not stirred ;)

Image

After it was un-tangled from his line. The cormorant was released back into the sea, no worse for it's strange venture.
Kammy had the camera and took a picture of the mystery camera man

Image

Over an hour had passed and JP appeared, to be told we were all blanking the Millsy way...

Image

By high water i was gettig cold and bored. Taking pictures of anything. This is one of the better shots

Image

It never got any better. No one had a bite :( and all we could talk about was getting back to a bit of flattie bashin' at Fairhaven.
We all blanked and not one person fishing on that beach caught a fish :(
Getting back to our cars was a welcome sight, our mojo's have gone out of the window...

Image

We still had time for a natter and do the final raffle of the year. Which our new boy Whipper Snapper won. A bottle of wine, so he didn't go home empty handed...

Image

This seasons fishing has been worse than poor, things must improve shortly. Roll on the new season and our first trip back to Fairhaven :)

Result....Whipper Snapper, Biff, Millsy, Sparky, Jp, Kammy and Shacky all get one point :-|

A Big Thank's to all who gave your support this year. I will see you in a month for the start of the New Season

Good report Shacky.

Had the Cormorant just got tangles in the line or had it taken a fish bait? Glad it was ok.
