Round 2 Sunday 8th Vale Park Result

Postby Big Kev » Sun Oct 08, 2006 6:10 pm

It was another good turn out for the second league match, with 50 hopefuls spreading out along the prom....
Image
Thankfully there was no thunderstorm to kick off with 8)
Image
At the far right by the groyne, the water is a little late getting there, though you could still start on time with a good cast :)
Image
Petethebeat`s first effort resulted in a crack off,but luckily for him it barely reached the water so he was able to retrieve it
Image
30 mins in to things and Steve Bonner took an eel 8)
Image
He was fishing next to his old dad Paul, towards the groyne, and he`d had a takeable flounder early on......
Here`s Pauls gear.....Portsmouth rigs are very popular with the match lads...and so is crab :D
Image
10 mins later, and a short lob on to the sandy slope gave Paul this crackin plaice of 2-3-8 8)
Image
I went for a wander to spread the good news to the other anglers....for some reason they all seemed to question Paul`s parentage
Image
A well placed moan brought this for Al Middleton
Image
Round 1 winner Nic Pytel struggled like the rest
Image
Jimmy Kelly, at peace with his pipe, just as well as he struggled too
Image

England International,Bill n Heather Linfield can usually be relied upon to bring something to the scales, but even they found it very hard going today :?
Here`s one of Bill`s rigs.....
Image
We hoped for the odd dog to show towards high water, but sport remained pretty dire......the weigh in would`nt take long...again
Image
Another look at Pauls plaice 8)
Image
The heaviest flat fish was obviously taken by Mr Bonner with his near specimen of 2-3-8
Image
The round fish pool was taken or should i say moaned in,by Alan Middleton with a codling of 1-1-8 8)
Image
The pairs match was won by Paul Bonner/Mick Burns with a total weight of 2-3-8 8)
Image
50 Anglers Fished
48 Entered The Pairs
3 Anglers Weighed In a total of 3 fish...1 plaice,1 eel,1 codling

I think BLUECAT fished to my right and had a codling early one.........................just half a centimetre undersize  BAD LUCK.

BTW Kev.....top report.

I blanked like almost everyone else but still an enjoyable day.Had to leave half an hour early because of work.
