well done
that is actually very interesting info that the flounder are out just over casting distance in numbers
shows how the ground must change the further out you get.

Very interesting this Paul. Did you get much tide run at that distance and did you see the bites? Where you holding bottom ok and did ya loose any gear at all?
Really interesting this 8)
I’d love to see you put a whole side of macky out on a Big hook and heavy gear at that range. Be very very interesting I think!

I had no issues with tide at long range, I was using one of Steve Duffy’s 5oz leads with no grippers on it and it held in fine, however it was neap tide, could be different on a spring or a stronger tide. Nothing stopping you going up in weigh to 8 or 10oz if needed as the drone can carry 1kg.

I hit no snags at all as the bottom was clean all the way in.

That’s superb Paul. 8)
Are you gonna try fishing some really big baits out at that distance?

Absolutely, half a mackerel on a pennel hook set up, I will try some uncooked/unshelled prawns. The bait should stay on better as it does go though the force of being cast and hitting the water so hard.

Here one of videos from a flight sent out off Perch Rock, I will load another from the beach that I have taken too. Hopefully my videos will improve, as it’s all new to me.

This certainly looks promising and ideal for some of the flat shallower North Wales beaches

That’s superb that Paul. 8)
I’d love to see your results with half a Mackeral or whole edible crab. I think there is some massive fish to be caught off that Bank.

This looks as though it could have some good applications....Carp anglers have been doing similar with bait boats for years.
There will be no hiding from anglers baits any more !

Good for Tope I would think, but plenty of line would be needed. Interested to see your catch reports .

I wonder if the matchmen amongst us will either be investing in a drone, or complaining about the use of them ?

I would`nt get any satisfaction at all by using a drone or bait-boat to catch fish,it`s not what fishing is about imho :naughty:

Gotta agree with Kev on this I’m afraid. Whilst I find it fascinating and I’m really keen to see what can be caught at that range I wouldn’t use one to fish with.
I practice my casting often and I’m proud of my results and how it has helped me to become the match Angler I am and helped me with the successes I’ve achieved, all down to hours on the beach casting to get it right.
I’ve got nothing against drones at all and like I say they intrigue me with the results the can throw up but I have no wish to add them to my armoury. But good luck to anyone who wishes to use em. 8)

Hi Big Hitter, All.

Totally agree with all comments, but the excitement is about fishing areas that are not normally fished in a new way. I come from a fishing town called Great Yarmouth (Herring Heaven years ago) If is can be done differently then why not? Otherwise we would all be fishing with nets and canes. Magnets in Reals and Carbon Fibre, how would had thought.

Bring on anything that gives the edge, fish need to be chased , after all the plant is 2/3 water..
