Thanks for the comments fellas, first off well done to Kev on his fish of the month, a Cod to be well proud of  It's definitely been a long old slog this year but it paid dividends starting early on chasing the Rays in February, Then going for early flounders with Graham and getting that early Huss, a few points racked up to start off the year. My Highlight was definitely catching the Tope in June and as Graham said he knows how much time and effort went into catching it. After losing one right at the side I returned the following weekend, I drove to the Lleyn on Friday night only to return home after an hours fishing due to an anglers nightmare I had, undeterred I went again the next night with not much to report maybe a point or two, and then the following weekend the same again very slow fishing. I was definitely on one, I'd already had a taster so I was determined to land one and the weekend after Bingo, job done. Kev started to rack up a few good points too along with Graham closing the gap after a few fruitless sessions I had, however I started to claw some valuable points back to end up taking a good lead again and to take the Title. At this point I will say that without this site, Big Kev for running and updating the Specimen Trophy, the anglers I've met and friends I have made along the way and to Graham for driving us to and from Anglesey and the Lleyn during the early hours I would not have done it so a big thank you to everyone, long live wirralseafishing and may the fun continue

Well done Kev on running this specimen hunt and congrats to Gaz on an excellent Tope. Kev also for his cod.
Would have loved more time to head west and add to my Mersey specimens but wasn't to be. Nice one Dyl for your dog and lace to move into sixth.

Thanks Gaz. However it's not a transport but time problem. Most of my sessions are at pretty short notice but if time and conditions play ball then maybe could sneak a session out West.

Cheers John I was disappointed I didn’t do better and had a last push as I was off work. I had caught a Huss and wrass on previous sessions but never recorded them as I thought I would have caught bigger

I only had a 2.8 Thornie last February, it's important to get them early points on the board then you can only improve, bet you won't do that again this year Dyl
