For 2015 the league format and rules will remain the same, it worked for 2014 and hopefully those who looked on from the sidelines will have been inspired to have a go this year. If your unsure just enter, anything can happen... Graham might even catch a bass this year

Participating in a fun league such as this and the summer and winter leagues will broaden your fishing horizons, there's more to sea fishing than the river Mersey and as you search out new species you will try new techniques, fish new venues and meet other anglers, its win win lads. Get involved or miss out 8)

Tight lines for 2015.

Cheers guys  and a huge thanks to Shaun for running the comp

It's added an extra bit of spice to each of my sessions this year, and as Shaun mentioned it certainly gives you that push to go the extra mile to search out species. Would I normally specifically target Gars? No, but when we did so this year on Pwllheli beach we had a really enjoyable session and I'm looking forward to having a go at them again this year, possibly on the fly. Would I target eels? Again no, but with the species hunt in mind a session in the mud down at Hale was actually quite enjoyable particularly as most of the fish were taken on my light set up.

Although I managed to find the most qualifying species this year I probably only caught 3 fish that were truly of specimen size, all 10lb+ huss, however there were some special catches taken by others. Richie had a fish of a lifetime in his 15lb+ smoothie and also took a 14lb conger. Degs as always took a number of specimen sized huss, but what a special catch that cuckoo ray was, and his near 3lb plaice was of specimen size also. Though not registered for the hunt, Wobblers tope was also a fish that I'm sure everyone of us dream of catching. Sean (Bigun) took a good sized cod, and Ian also took a thornie of 10lb+ which I'm sure would be classed a specimen also. So a huge well done to those guys

Cheers once again Shaun for all the work you put in, keep up the good work!

p.s. anybody got any tips for catching bass

Well done graham and to everyone else who took part. It was a bit of fun and certainly got me fishing some cracking marks using very strange tactics for myself. Also thanks Shaun for running it. I loom forward to taking part again this year
