Preview Round 2 River Alt Sunday March 16th

Prescot Angling Centre - 18/20 St Helens Road, Prescot L34 6HR ... 0151-426-5011...For All Your Angling Needs

It`s not the venue it once was,but there`s still some big flounders to be found at the ALT Booking in will be inside the boatyard from 8am til 8.30am.....as it`s an early start please be as quiet as a church mouse when parking/getting your gear out,so as not to upset the local residents ;)
Species 2018...Dab...Whiting...Cod...bass...dogfish...flounder...plaice...thornback ray...smoothound

First time I fished there I was late and started to wang it out, couldn't understand why everybody was laughing at me :?:
It was only on the ebb that I realised I was casting clean over the river and missed all the good fishing :doh:

Some big flounders here, razor can fish very well . Hour after high the fishing can be hectic.

I've never fished this mark before (flounders just don't seem that exciting) but as its on the Summer league list, one question. Can it be fished with a carp rod and a max 3oz weight or is it standard beachcasting gear and spiked leads?

I have fished it with a Severn Trent feeder rod with a 1oz bomb.You know when you've got a flounder on.Great sport. 8)

It`s a 29.5ft tide so there`ll be some tow early on,then change to lighter gear when the tide allows :idea:

Seeing as flounders are all we`re gunna catch here,there is no point having a double point scoring target species....that will make life simpler for some :lol:
