I'll tell you what it is.

The majority of people you meet in your life are nice, decent people who will help and go out of their way to be nice to you.

It's just the bad people who leave a bigger impression ( this is further fuelled by The Media ).

Just about put's it in perspective John..

Its a fishing thing I reckon Bill, like john says the majority of people you meet through out your life are nice, respectable and decent but still most won't be willing to meet up with a stranger at 3am in a tesco carpark then share a car halfway across the country its just not the societal norm  Whereas in the fishing community its just happens and is in ways, almost expected.

I have a few other hobbies but I wouldn't publicly offer a lift to a event of any nature, it just doesn't happen.

Maybe we like the stories of the one that got away or picking up information off people you otherwise wouldn't meet who knows

On that note I'll have space in my car

I've heard this other "hobby ;) " involves standing round in car parks at 3 am with nothing more than a dog lead

Ah. But. One of my other hobbies involves driving around the country and also involves a forum.

I have picked up "strangers" at stupid o'clock and driven to Scotland and The East of England, like we would to go fishing.

Maybe it's a forum thing, if that's the case then people ( strangers ) are meeting all the time to go to exhibitions, fishing, airshows, classic car meets, birdwatching , Events , concerts and loads of stuff.

It kind of is the norm in the Internet and social media age, people are meeting like minded strangers all over the place.
I am not a number !

Questions are a burden to others, answers a prison for oneself.

As we`ve changed to measure n release,it would be handy if everyone has their own measure...you can pick one up for less than £5. Chest waders are needed if you want to get on the rock channel asap...plenty on offer for under £30.

Asking people to measure their own could be controversial Kev! You know it's human instinct to exagerate! As for measuring fish... Rulers are in all good stationary shops

You don`t measure your own,but if no-one brings measures, there`s nothing to measure with  pens....bring pens too...don`t rely on others to have stuff

Haha that was my crude attempt at some innuendo but on reflection I can now see it also alluded to the potential for dishonesty, which is categorically not what I meant to insinuate! Last time I attempt humour after half a bottle of Rioja!

NWASAC also have a match at the Rock Channel on June 22nd,however they do not fish out on the bank,so if anyone does`nt fancy the hike,at least you`ll have some company 8)

There`s been a few amendments to the rules/pay out....check them again  25cm minimum so we`re catching fish and not tiddler bashing....3 hook limit....longest fish pay out,so everyone has a chance of winning a few beer tokens.
