small multi?

Postby riverangler » Sat Feb 04, 2017 5:41 am

hello all, am after some advice on a multi reel, have never used one before but i now want to have a go.

i am after a smallish reel? as it will be going on a bass rod(2-4oz)

are there any i should avoid(as a newbie to multi's) or is there one that i should go for as a first reel?

i intend to look for 2nd hand till i know what i am doing.

any advice appreciated.

ta.

loads available, i use a 6500 size on my bass rod with 12lb line.

depends how much you want to spend, i am selling a abu 6500 sports mag (see for sale section) which is a very lightweight reel but casts extremely well

Totally agree. A magged Abu 5500 or Akios 555 SCM would fit the bill perfectly. Not easy to find second hand though

I would go for an original Daiwa 7HT.Can stand a bit more neglect than Abu models and have greater line capacity than the 5500 size.Lighter than the 6500 size too.You would also be supporting UK jobs,Daiwa still manufacture in Scotland.
