Fished waterloo yesterday 4 1/2 down huge problem with weed to start of with so had a cup of tea and waited for a bit Fishing was really poor managed 2 whiting very early on then a nice little cod but really pi**ed off as i hooked into a nice size cod got him into the wall then my line decided to get stuck under the spool of a brand new surfmaster 850!!!!!!!!!! and snap off what a downer.

Fished from 4.45pm through low water upto 1/2 hour before high. only others out where to our left,3 lads been out since 1ish only 3 fish between them. neither myself or Tony had a sniff apart from 3 ton of weed (not the smoking kind,so no taking up fishing just for free wacky guys) pulled up and quite possibly a tree which took advantage of the tide and snapped me off.I ask myself before they cleaned the mersey it was a fish-a-chuck now its clean no fish (only jokin) we all know its the guys with the big nets ripping up anything that swims.guna try llandudno peir next saturday. well were to start 2 ton of bait and gallons of tea and coffee enough food to feed the crew on the qe2 and the weather cold slight breeze and the suns out ok lets go first to shop brought my new shakespear rod rest nice piece of equipement then ask were was fishing the shop person said waterloo dock fishing well from low to high (we was of to vale park at first) so we changed our minds of we went after tracking through a building site 4ft of mud and slurry we arrived at our destination i set up a 2 hook flapper rig with size 1 hooks on and baited them up with 1and a half blacklug with the feel of confidence out i launched my clipped hooked banquet then waited with anticepation for the first bite mmmmmmm 20mins into my seasion and nowt change of bait macky with black anotheir mighty launch to the horizen waited waited and mmmmmmmm waited a little more nowt mr d my mate was now pullin his hair out of which he has little due to our recent explorations lol changed to squid and then squid and black nowt was working and just then a drop back wow as quick as i picked the rod up the what ever it was , was now in open sea well that said it all confidence down to 25% tide turned and change of rig a 1/0 pulley pennel rig big bait and out it went mr d also changed similar to mine copy cat lol and once again not a single bite last cast omg the tide my lead hit the water and no soon had it hit the tide it was in outterspool and the only thing we caught was weed and rubbish so there we have it never change your mind vale park next week or asda for our fish lol tight lines all

Fished with Jags, Jaygo and Spudgun 3 hours before low and one after. Small codling kept the rod tips busy for most of the night but jags caught the only sizable fish of the night with a codling of 2lb.

just got back from waterloo,fished 2 hrs before low,plenty of dabs,and small codling,more importantly as we were leaving,we got to the main yellow gates to find them locked,a security guard followed behind and told us that they are now being shut at 6pm every night,he was ok with us but the impression that he might not be so accomodating in the future,

arrived 3 hours before high water with son in law stu (stubo) very quiet on all fronts various techniques and baits used, no bites at all until the tide turned then a handfull of small dabs codling and a whiting (see reports forum for full report and pics)

fished with son-in-law Ian, 3 hours before high and 1 hour after, tide was flying through, plenty of bog roll on line along with anything else that could grab it, Ian still managed a couple of small whiting,. would'nt fish it again on such a high tide, had a couple of lovely cod there last year, they've started to work on the new canal but don't seem to mind people still fishing, going back on saturday so i'll let you know how we get on.

went to use up bait i had left. Wasn't expecting much just trying to get off the mark in my species hunt so off i went and it was flatties from the off managed 4 by the end. great to be out and the peace was excellent. tight lines. Admin Edit: Dave sorry your pics where too large to post up.

Fished from high to low at the end of the wall to the left. Fished with a pennel rig with lug worm tipped with squid as bait. It was my first time fishing here, heard so much about it on this web site that i needed to give it a go. Quite windy out there and come up with a blank (oh sorry a small crab does that count). As i arrived people already fishing and one chap had just caught a codlig about 2Lb. Ive just started fishing again and need to catch some fishes.

Fished from 11 to 5 had a bite to start but nothing developed, total waste of time, anglers to my right had a codling of about half a pound just before high but nothing else heard of along the wall

Fished an hour up to high and two hours down. Gale force winds from the west but not as cold as we were expecting. Only managed three dabs and about six crabs! Still a good time though. I heard someone along here caught a 3lb codling later that night.

So busy here today thought there was a match on. Anyway, fishing was pretty slow up to slack water due to screaming tide and weed clogging up the line on the retrieve. Slack water changed everything. Had nine dabs in 1 1/2 hours including two double shots and one three bearded rockling which was probably not far off a pound in weight. Biggest one I've ever seen. Question. How do six inch dabs get their gob round a 4/0 pennel rig stuffed with four black lugworm/

Fished from 9pm til 1am from the knuckle....knew the tide was a bit on the big side for this mark,but could`nt be bothered driving to my intended session over the water....apart from 1 tiny codlet on my first chuck i spent the next 3 hours dredging the river,as the weed was pretty bad....cleared 30 mins before high water but still not a sniff

Fishe poorly on the ebb and first couple of hours of flood tonight. The frozen lug was a waste of space. Got a dab to save a blank. Amount of crap left by anglers was a disgrace.

Fished from 10.20pm til 3am with a few of the girls....very quiet on all fronts...not a breath of wind...very little tidal flow....few fish.....couple of codling,best 1-13-0 plus a few dabs and 1 whiting between us

only able to fish an hour up an an half an half down due to the size of the tide my dad had a nice 2pound cod and i had about a 23/4pound doggy good session tho

got down to the river about six started fishing. tried every bait except peeler(only brought four) nothing doing. put peeler on an hour before we got off. was in the water for about ten mins then whack up the wall came a nice 3lb cod. my first cod. bait was ok so threw it back in about half an hour later whack up came a pound and a half cod. all in all nice night and fish and chips for tea

fished at a secret location by the waterloo dock with my dad an his m8 his m8 was into a cod on second cast about an pound an half are expectations were high soon after i had a good nock an pulled in a 2an half pound coddo i was CHUFFED!!! then next cast i had another 1 about a pound which was returned my dad blanked nothing else caught no whiting or dabs which i thought was strange it good to see the cod in though:D

went to the laing o'rouke lorry yard with kev and john about six. very slow right up to high water then me and kev both had the smallest whiting. then just as the tide was going out kevs rod gets whacked, and up came a 2lb dogfish. just before we were getting off both kev and john pulled in a small dab. all in all a nice night shame no cod like but very enjoyable. going again today

caught 12 flatties 1 cod fished from 7pm till 9pm just by laing o'rourke lorry yard, great fishing also been fishing under H M CUSTOMS building been catching huge pollock non stop got 4 in 1 hour come on the fish, still waiting for that big cod though

fished waterloo dock with three of the lads big mark ,murphy,and mr potts the butterfly. 7 rods out all fresh bait had 1 fish between us a codling about 2lbs to big mark .fished 3hrs down to low an 2hrs after fish caught 1hr before low fished 2100 till 0200. whats wrong with mersey ! still we will keep feeding mr crab. Just got back from Waterloo dock with our Andy. We only stuck it out for a few hours the tidal pull and the weed were the winners. You can only take so much cant you! Ah well another blank. Looks like Wales is out again this weekend!! How do you do it Wokkie?

Fished from 4.15pm til 6.15pm with Steve n Paul....not our intention to fish here on the flood but we had no option....pretty weedy for 30 mins then it cleared....managed a few codling between us and a couple of dabs......it`s not exactly on fire yet,but some nice fish are showing.

1st time @ this venue. Fished 2 1/2 hour down and 1 up. 3 other guyz down by the clock so TRIED to fish next to them. 8.9 meter Tide couldn't hold the bottom and there was lots of weed today. Blanked yet again (the other 3 guyz had nothing) but will visit the Venue again maybe on a 8 meter or something.
