Fished to left of groyne in front of lighthouse. Had about 20 fish with my mate don catching most on frozen prawn, just bog standard supermarket stuff. Worked just as well in squid lug package. 15 whiting to 12" and 5 small dabs. Fished 3 hours down to lw.

fished from left of t-groin hoping for some coddy action fishing two rods one with pennal rig with full squid on for the cod and the other rod i fished a two hook flapper with mackrel tipped with squid fish started to feed hour after high whiting on the drop of every cast. and on the big bait a whiting of about twenty cms tried to take the full bait .there were no keepers on the night but it was nice to get out and wet a line and at least i ddidnt blank. im going to try cod corner on the flood next time for the cod peice and love the jones

fished newbrighton beach in various places this weekend fished 2 hours down 2 hours up 30oclock , great fishing over hundred fish between us crabs were as bad as the pin whighting which was the main fish being caught lets hope the cold weather brings the cod in this year

just got back from fishing high water today down by the building work double slipway caught 2 flounder and 3 schoolie bass will upload photos 1st bass was just shy of 1lb other 2 were a bit better of 1.3lb and 1.6lb flounders were also small but wide of 8oz and 12oz. all were returned safley my flounder rig was meant for a plaice but it wasnt to be today. maybe next time who knows.

fished high 1hr before 2hr after two knocks and 1 crab only .got talking to a guy next to me who got fed up and gave me the rest of his bait 2packs of lug and a full box of squid so i decided to fish low aswell fished behind the fort by the light house sorry i did bait getting stripped every 5 mins i timed it can any one tell me is there a teqnique to fishing behind the fort so as not to have your bait stripped so fast

Fished last two hours of ebb tide at tower grounds beach, using two rods with peeler as bait. Took 10 flounders and 5 dabs. No specimen fish or plaice today, but an enjoyable session. Packed in early to save some bait.

put the boat in at new brighton at 8.15am, three of us on board , fished 3.1/2 down and 2.1/2 up of low water, fished brazil bouy ,sea was a bit rough , fished 1/2 an hour then moved . no bites. Moved up river about 500mts down river from albert docks and we struggled for bites packed up at 2,20pm we had one fish each two codling and one flaty all small fish . first time on the river so it was'nt a waisted trip, and it got us away from the trouble and strife

Nice bit of chop looked promising !! Wrong direction though, coming in off the water ( S/E ?) Dragging weed and bouncing leads, only a tiny flatie saved the blank ! Only three other brave souls out ,,,,

Fished to the left of Fort Perch Rock(left hand side of groyne), 2 up, 1 down. Used Ragworm on size 2 hook (3 hook set up). Second cast had a bass of about 1 1/2 lb (33cm). My first ever bass! The Euphoria was short lived when i later caught an eel from hell! big and nasty, made a real mess of my rig so had to set up again after he had done his worst. Nothing else but plenty of bites, particularly after the turn of the tide. Great way to get back into sea fishing, 6 years since i have been. Told the bass i'll be back for his Dad soon !

went at eight am to try and get some peeler on the rocks by the lighthose none there had to pump some lug for bait stayed on the rocks as its a nice bass mark got 5 yes 5 plaice on the turn of the tide all on lug also had 2 small pin codling did anyone else see the seal cruising twenty yards out it was there for about two hours

Fished the tide down for 3.5hours and 1.5hrs back at new brighton,. It was fish a chuck on the ebb, all small codling all taking anything and none over 30cms. I never seen the small codling so abundant! bites slowed by slack, must have ended up with 2 dozen or more, all safely returned with orders to come back again next year:-) a very pleasant evening

Fished 2hrs before & 1hr after 29' tide at Town Hall Steps. Cracking day, bright sunshine compared to the weather the day before. Knock after knock with a total of 11 whiting all good size, 1 dab and 1 small codling. Best bites on macky, connected with something decent but rolled on the surface and got off! What a change from last year - fantastic. Anglers hauling either side with some decent dogfish coming out. I wish some people would stick to catch and release or learn how to kill a fish quickly - why would anyone want to eat a small doggy from the mersey....

fished high tide by the lifeboat station an didnt catch anything until tide had come right in when i caught a dover sole which was about 2lbs an put up a good fight. I took it home to eat an it was beautiful. has anyone else caught any. plus my uncle caught a good dog fish which was about 3lbs.

Fished just before the clown round about, 2hrs up 1hr down. The weather was overcast and threatening to rain with an off shore wind. I used two rods both on braid with 2 hook flappers with size 2 hooks, I used blow lug tipped off with mackerel on both rods. Put the first rod out about 150 meters not a touch and I had to re-bait every 10mins because of the crabs. I chucked out a second rod about 25 yards to my left just off the rocks, only two knocks on this rod missed both. The guy next to me had two rods out and only had one knock. 7 hooks out between us and no fish for both of us.

Fished from Derby Pool again and had another Thornie, only a small one about 1.5lb. nothing else caught but the wind surfers where a pain how much room do they need, kept coming within 20ft of my set up, can't have helped the fishing!

Fished the bank ,about 15minutes out from the prom. Big bait was put at distance and fished my spinning rod with flatty rig closer in .End result was 14 dab a flounder and a codling to 3/4 lb . Left a bit early as the constant flow of dabs knackered me out.

I met Sy28 at the Double Slipway, Harrison Drive for a noddy session. High was 20:37 and at only 7.57M we weren`t expecting much. It started a bit blowy with a little drizzle. Sy was fishing one rod with flappers and I had two rods out; 2/0 on a mini-boom and a #1 bottom pulley and 4/0 + 1/0 pennel with a 1/0 bottom pulley. We fished from around 7pm. At 21:15 when we both reeled in a rockling each. By now the wind had dropped and the sky was clear as a bell making it a very nice night. 15 minutes later I hauled in this nice flounder.. 32cm / 9 Oz bait: black tipped with mack.

3 down 1 up, me and my uncle fished, 26 fish in total between us,a mix of flatties and whiting,a mad hour either side of low,frozen lug did the trick,3 lots of double flatties at once,which was nice,nothing of much size,1 nice whiting,all in all a great session.

Went Friday fished high water down to low and then back up.... a bit. We have nothing till the tide turned by this time we was all wet, cold and wishing we went Wales... But then it started we was getting pin whitting and some of small codling. We called it a night about 11.15pm. But i wish we stuck it out to see if the big cod was coming our way.

I got to the rock channel very late and only had a couple of hours to fish and i had a Skate of 4lb 4 onces,whitch was my first ever skate so i was ver made up.Alot of bites none stop,Lost a big smoothy about 20 yrds out,i was really gutted. got to harrison drive for 6:30pm and started to fish the channel before wading out at 7:15pm got on the bank and straight into fish total of 4 ,22cm flounders/2 small codling and 1 big pull that took my rod off the stand on crab 30 mins before low then after that went slack until 1 hour of the tide starting to pull p.s.glad you finally cought a fish then millsey i thought you were gonna blank and i managed to get my money back after a long argument with gerry be back soon as the smuts will be in soon.

YOU AINT WRONG WIV DA ODDS M8 Seeing it was raining for most of the day, and all the chores in the new house are upto date, I decided its time for a fish. Checked the reports and thought I would give The tunnel vents a go. As it is only 10 minutes away I thought the walk would do me good. Got there, stood on the prom quite puzzled? This water isn't as high as it should be, I mumbled to myself? Lit a fag and continued to study the form, I used an old washed up shopping trolley as a guide, (only on the wirral, lol) After 5 minutes it dawned on me that is was going out. ARRHH O.K. Back home in to the car and head for New Brighton. Set up and cast out, only to see the wind had caught my bag and the Raggies were making a bid for freedom? after shooing of a few Gull's I managed to round up what was left of the escapees. Sat down and poured a well earned coffee, lit up a fag with the ever faithfull Zippo only to have the wind blow the flame back and singe my eybrows, then I stood up to rub my singe knocking my coffee over. Something tells me I should have stayed in bed? Now to the fish>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> > > > > WOT FISH? YOUR AVIN A LAFF AINT YA??

Encouraged by reports of codling and decent whiting in the area I decided to have a solo session at New Brighton. As it was my first time fishing there it was a case of look for areas of the sea wall covered in dried lug and rusty hooks and hope it was a good mark. Perch Rock lighthouse was about half a mile to my right and I was near a slipway (hope it helps). Early flood produced nothing but whiting so I upped my rig to twin 6/0s, 3 or 4 black lug and tipped with squid hoping for the elusive cod or bigger whiting over higher water. All I mananged to see was more whiting rattles as they pecked away at the bait and avoided the hooks. 2 other anglers near me had same fate. All being well will try again later in the week.

tad late reporting this but still might be of interest. fished off the beach, new brighton side of the groyne by dalmorton rd. caught a nice cod of 5-2-8 early on in the session, bout 3 hours before low on a black and blow cocktail. not alot after that with only a couple of small whiting. paddy blanked:-)

started fishing the wall by the main road but was really windy and rough waves coming over caught nothing, so moved down the road to the other side of what i think was perch rock fished about 2 hours up and 3 down between 2 of us we had 5 small codling all under 10" but fat nice to catch in a few years time and 1 decent whitting i got all excited it slacked lined me thought it was gonna be a nice codling but no a whitting of about 1 1/2lb i think this is a better venue to fish at night. i fished last wekend and caught about 35 whitting all in size, up to nearly 2lb, 2 hours up 2 hours down on the evening high

Fished 3 down and 1 up at the end of the groyne below the boat slipway. Set up 2 rods. One with rag and mack cocktails and the other loaded with a big Rak/Mack coctail on a 4/0 Hook. 2 small codling and a few undersized Whiting for my troubles. I missed a couple of big rattling bites on the rod with the big bait. Better luck next time? Tight Lines!!
