fished kings dock sunday, 3hours up 1 down with son-in-law ian, cold but a nice calm day with sunshine, 8.9m tide, ian caught 5 whiting and 2 rockling nothing of great size, i caught a solitary whiting of about three quarters of a pound, hoping for cod but no joy, this freeze keeps up they could be in soon, counted 10 charter boats in a line in front of us down the middle channel they could have been catching cod ??, anyway it was a very enjoyable day, going to fish waterloo dock next weekend let you know how we get on.

Fished up to high water. Warm night with no wind at all. Tide was a bit strong really, plagued with weed early on. Less weed as slack water approached. Caught a tiny whiting about an hour before hw and half an hour later a nice male Thornback Ray of about 4lb.

Fished 2 up and 1 down. I caught a small whiting on my first cast and then nothing else. My mate Jon caught a nice whiting kept for the pot and Mo caught his first ever fish so tha was well worth turning out for. 1 all this time round and I keep my record of never blanking at the Mersey.

Took my son Edward (13) to the front of the new flats. Started fishing at 4.00pm. We both had a number of bites which looked like Whiting. Eventually he managed to land 3, one of which was in size so we took it home and he ate it for supper. He did have one cracking site on the long range rod but after a struggle the leader (60lb) snapped. A good evenings fishing in pleasant surroundings.

cold weather wise caught fish from the starttook 5 home good size loads of small whitys mate robbie caughtquite a few son paul caught none did not feel well packed in early further up the river two women fishing did not catch any guy from from bolton came as we were packing in got the time wrong told him to go t7o new brighton but he did nothave enough juice wedrove along to were the cat goes out he was fishing there hope he had enough tackle loads of snags there come on lads get your reports on they are geting a bit dated tight lines seeya soon dave &paul

fished half 6 till about 10 had loads of whittin all different sizes a few doggies. An just on high tide got a nice codling about 3/half pound really good night bit windy thow but fished very well.

Started fishing at 19.30 hr High tide 21.40 hr. The weather was very mild with alittle blow westerly First knock to Little John a nice 1.5lb whiting then myself whiting then Litlle John finally big Dave this went on until 22.30 hr, Fifty fish later with one good fish each to take home we packed up and went home satisfied of a good nights fishing.Now we have got the cob webs off, bring on the cod. PS GOOD FISHING IS BEING MISSED AT THE ALEXANDER,can we as a fishing group not do anything about the loss of this fine venue. Good night you all .r The LADS

First time up this part of the river on a low. Fished 4 b4 and 1 after HT @22:30. From the first cast we were into whiting on a 2 hook clipped down rig. Then noticed that it was becoming shallower, in the next half hour the water emptied from the wall and went out at least 50yds - dohhh. Packed in and went the Alex wall as didnt fancy having to cast 100 yds and pulling fish over 50 yds of sand.r

Just got back from Kings Parade, just by the customs house.r Even though i couldnt see half the bites as it was a bit blowy, i did manage to catch loads of whiting and dab, mostly double headers as well. Its the first time ive fished there and i must admit it was very comfortable to fish. Will definitley try again. Fished from 06:00 till 10:30, after that it was pulling too much.r Fished 2 hook flappers with whole lug on each hook hoping for a cod, but not today, so i'll have to go again wont i ;-)r

Fished the Queens Dock on Wednesday from 7:30 - 10:30.r 3 of us fished and the result was 1, 2lb Cod and about 25 Whiting.r Fish started biting around 9:00 a good night indeed missed sh!t loads of bites too.r Lee

Highwater (31.5ft ) was around 0.30 hours, 1 hour before was struggling to hold bottom with 6oz snap grip leads. Borrowed a 6oz Gemini "anti snag" lead from Chris (Webmaster) and that held bottom nicely, (recommended purchase) although the price is a bit steep!) .Anyways I blanked that night. (not even a bite). Got a feeling the deeper waters of Jag House/Priory wharf/Brazil Bouy would have produced a better evenings fishing. Dave W

Tried a new venue with Chris (Webmaster) and Damien, Bit slow to start then endless onslaught of Whiting caught by all, Other fish caught where 2 Rockling from Damien, I also landed small Codling. Overall Not bad venue, well lit, would be interesting to see how it fished after a cold spell. Dave W

We fished here from about 5 o'clock, with high water due at 9pm. Not a lot showed for the first hour, with just a couple of tiny Rockling coming out. Things then started to pick up, with loads of Whiting starting to come out. Dave had a small codling in among the Whiting. By the time we packed up at 9.45, I was well into double figures with the whiting, all of them went back. Good nights fishing was had by all. Its was just a shame Steve couldn't make this snag free venue! Damien
