We got out of work as early as we could, set off to Formby, we got there about 7.15pm. After a long walk down to the water with all our gear ( to much as always ) we started to pump and dig some lug... Still need to get the hang of the pump, we was getting next to nothing on the pump, there was a guy there getting one every pump... how ?? he was giving us some of the worms he was getting.. THANKS... after all the messing we set up and started to fish about 8.30pm It was going dark the wind wasn't to bad but just giving the sea that bit of surf we wanted to see.. It was a slow nite most of the nite... But didn't spend much time looking at our rods. The tide sarted to come up and come up it did, it was just to fast to get any good fishing done, we was up and down with out gear most of teh nite... then after all our messing and moving, i had the 1st bang bang on my rob. It's got to be my 1st Bass i was getting my self ready to land a bass.. But NO it was a dab good size, but still not a bass... Then about 1 hour before high water it sarted to fish a bit better we was getting lots of bites but kept messing them. I have 1 more dab on Beans rod just under size... then we called it a nite.. Would go again but in the day.. was to worried about the tide taking any gear we couldn't see coz it was dark... and the banks almost had us.. Mark got very wet feet... Pic's will follow......

Fished from 5pm til 7.15pm on Formby Beach.....had a nice bass of 4-14-8 on dead low water...nothing after,though i may have done if i`d had my chest waders and been able to fish longer in the likely gullies...it`s been fishing well lately with quality bass showing....mid range tides are best,but sometimes you just have to go on springs

fished afew hours at crosby baths, 3up 1 down. plenty of pin whiting but nothing else. only had afew peeler with me so next time will get more. Not much mud here compared to usual. plenty of deep gullies for fish to run up.

Fished from the beach at the end of Seaforth Rocks with Steve and Ian from 7am til 10.30 am (high water 9.45am)..very quiet, no dabs, no bites. 5 rods out ! not worth the effort to attend. Ollie

Fished from the beach at the end of Seaforth Rocks with Sven n Steve Duffy from 3pm til 6.30pm (low water 5pm)..fairly quiet with just a couple of dabs and a few missed bites til low water then i had a couple of whiting and codling of 2-0-0 and 2-15-0,plus Sven had one of 2-5-0.Bit of a walk from the safer parking at Crosby Baths,but you`re fishing in to a good deep channel which is worth the effort.

fished low water 19:35 (3 hrs down 2hrs up) fish every cast ,whiting,dabs,codling went with hubby and brother in law fished at bottom end of rocks best fish caught was 5 1/2 lbs cod (by me) that was also my first cod ha ha well chuffed , brother in law caught a few cod up to 3 lbs but hubby pestered with dabs and whitting ( 3 at a time) LOL if fishing here watch for the gully

fished 2 up 1down plenty of bites first hour, not much success , 2nd hour rods were banging away total fish were 5codling 5 whiting and 2 small flatties +waiting a half hour for the seal to pass . the sea was calm for the time of year. plenty of cod in the mersey so reports say ps the lad who fished on the end of the rocks get in touch with me and we will sort something out as getting a charter boat or fishing with the lads if he wants

Fished 2 up & 2 Down off the marina end, determined to do better than the Trefor dog before we go head to head in our December fishing competition!! Good turnout for a cold day. Caught 5 codling all returned. All fish took the Mackeral and not the Squid!!

Fished off rocks by crosby with my brother mick. We set off at 10am ,the high tide was at 12-22 the sea was very calm and sun was on our backs,lets say a perfect day for fishing.our mick was using his new rod and reel, i was glad to use my own gear once again as it had been left in my holiday home in wales all summer.we had nothing for the first 2hours then the rods started banging (well mine did)and we caught atotal of 8 codling. We returned all fish and set off home around 2-30 it was a really enjoyable day considering its mid november and so mild. By the way 7of the codling were caught by me (keep trying mick)

Started off as a good day, arrived and set up 2hrs before high tide. weather fine, sun was shining, but a few black clouds started to move in. Sea turned to rough and then to top it all it started to batter down. No bites at all!!! Went home to sit by the fire & a cup a soup. Got me rigs ready for next week.

Fished 2hrs up and 1hr down by crosby marina with my brother, for october the weather was great and sea calm. fish started knocking as the tide turned. peter grabbed two doggies (1 good size) with two codling with a close incounter with good size cod which came of the hook just before he got it out of the water!! I grabbed three codling.

Fished the beach at crosby baths,from 9.15am to 12noon(high water 11.38).Myself,Damien and Lucky John.Fished very poorly,one small rockling between us,no bites,good job the weather was nice.

Fished from about 9ish till 12ish. Out of four rods, only Kev caught anything, a small rockling. Not worth bothering other than for having a laugh. Hope we fair better at the fish-in. Damien
